German Hetzer tank destroyer, painted in dapple camouflage pattern to mimick blending of tree shadows. With Hetzer compact size for concealment, it excelled at armor ambushes.
1.35 1980s-era Italeri model kit, brush painted dapple camouflage by hand via enamel paints of Forest Green, African Yellow, Dark Brown. Model depicts Jagdpanzer (tank destroyer) of 10th SS Panzer Division Frundsburg counter-attacking British forces at Vire-Normandy, August 1944.
By this time, Allied offensive was about to pincer German Army in Normandy, desperate to save off pending catastrophe, Germans fought incessant rear guard actions to hold eastward escape corridors.
SS-Frundsburg was one of those units that secured the escape routes, thus saving off complete military collapse in Westfront (western front) in Summer 1944.
