
P-47D of FAV (Fuerza Aerea Venezolana for Venezuelan Air Force) during 1952 border dispute with Colombia over Los Monjes island region controlling shipping access and offshore oil deposit rights.
P-47 was batch of WW2-era surplus fighters sold to Venezuela, fighter armed with 8@50-cal heavy machine guns and racks for 2@500-lb bombs.
Gave plane "10-B-36" custom-designed "La Parchinita" (Spanish for Little Passion Fruit) fuselage art. Also used 1/48 and 1/72 concentric British RAF decals to create FAV roundel insignias.
