
Kampfpanzeren (German for Battle Tanks), dual models depicting Leopard 1A1-A1 and Leopard 2 tanks of 1980s West Germany Bundeswehr (Federal Army).
Leopard 1 was developed from failed French-German tank venture, it was first tank developed by West Germany in postwar era.
Leopard 1A1-A1 Turmverkleidung (German for Turrent Layer), painted in dapple camouflage scheme, is special version with bolt-on applique armor around turret assembly.
Leopard 2 developed in 1970s from failed US-Germany tank venture, armed with same 120mm gun as US M1 Abrams tank.
Both Leopard tanks are extensively exported by Germany as part of lucrative arms trade to NATO and other European nations. Current military operations involving both Leopard tanks are SFOR operations in Bosnia, KFOR operations in Kosovo, and NATO mission in Afghanistan.
