Schwerer Panzerspahwagen ( 7.5cm PAK39 L/48 ) Puma of German Panzer Lehr Division ( 130th Panzer Division ), 130th Panzer Aufklärungabteilung ( armor reconnaissance battalion ), Saint Lo - Normandy - France, July 1944.

Puma armor car up-gunned to 7.5cm PAK39 L/48 anti-tank gun, a superb WW2 German caliber mounted across multiple tanks, tank destroyers, half-tracks, weapons carriers, etc.

Panzer Lehr part of German defense line against American forces in western Normandy, whereby they were plummeted by US carpet bombing of frontlines during Operation Cobra commencement, which utterly shattered Panzer Lehr formation, surviving units retreated southeast to form new defense line.


By Sept 1944, major battles in France ended with German forces retreat to Germany frontier and Low Countries regions. Only few German garrison forces in French Atlantic port cities held-out until end of WW2.
